Incorporated in the State of Alaska on December 21, 2001, the Board of Directors first met in 2002, chaired by Jerry Brown.
Memoirs of the USPA
To celebrate this momentous event, Michael R. Lilly, Jerry Brown, Larry D. Hinzman, and Frederick E. Nelson published U.S. Permafrost Association Celebrating the First Twenty Years (2002-2022). This memoir chronicles the major events, achievements, and rich history of the USPA since its founding in 2002.
Booth at the 2022 AGU Fall Meeting
The USPA organized a booth to reach out to the research and engineering community.
Annual Social
The USPA celebrated 20 years, 2002 to 2022, with a social gathering at Krolls restaurant December 13th, 2022 during the AGU Fall Meeting in Chicago.
20th Anniversary Workshop
The USPA held a workshop in Anchorage on November 4, 2022 at the British Petroleum Energy Center celebrating 20 years of permafrost research and engineering.
